SUMMARY

The O.L.M.E. project addresses the emotional and social resilience needs of young people and the youth workers who support them, particularly in relation to the life transitions and “endings” they face.

The specific objectives of the project are:

– Equip young people aged 13–19 with soft skills—such as adaptability, self-awareness, and emotional regulation—to help them navigate personal and social changes, including grief, loss, and relational transitions.

– Enhance the capacity of youth workers to support vulnerable youth through the “End Education” approach, using innovative tools, storytelling, and experiential learning.

– Strengthen cross-sector collaboration among organizations working in youth development, education, and mental health by sharing best practices, co-creating resources, and fostering long-term cooperation.

– Deliver inclusive, non-formal educational programs that offer adolescents—especially those at risk of exclusion—safe spaces for reflection, expression, and growth.

– Raise awareness around the psychological and societal impacts of denying or avoiding life’s endings, and promote respectful, inclusive narratives through education and dissemination activities.

– Promote emotional literacy and civic resilience in diverse national contexts, with a focus on preventing violence, anxiety, and discrimination among young people—especially those experiencing marginalization due to gender, culture, or social status.

In doing so, O.L.M.E. fosters a culture of empathy, acceptance, and mental well-being—empowering both young people and those who guide them through life’s inevitable cycles of change.

IMPACT

All the project activities will significantly enhance the emotional competence, self-awareness, and social understanding of young people, providing a strong foundation for their mental well-being and capacity to handle life’s transitions. Through the exchange of best practices and non-formal learning tools, youth workers and educators will improve the quality of their interventions—enabling them to better support adolescents facing challenges such as grief, relationship endings, identity shifts, and social exclusion. By the end of the project, participants will be more prepared to initiate cross-border and cross-sectoral collaborations focused on inclusive youth support and emotional education within their local contexts.

As a result, the young participants will develop meaningful competencies in navigating the “Cycle of the End”—gaining emotional literacy, soft skills, and a greater sense of agency. This transformation will be achieved through participation in national pilot workshops, interactive learning on the modular e-learning platform, and active contributions to the End Education campaign. They will also benefit from guided reflection and shared storytelling sessions that foster community and empathy among peers.

Additionally, youth workers will engage in intensive in-person training, supported by a comprehensive educational workbook and access to the project’s digital learning environment. These resources will empower them to apply, adapt, and disseminate the End Education approach long after the project concludes.

Ultimately, the young people and professionals involved will be equipped not only to integrate these emotional tools into their personal and professional lives, but also to promote mental health awareness and inclusion within their schools, communities, and networks—ensuring the sustainability and long-term resonance of the project’s values and impact.
