Stichting yEUth is proud to announce its participation in the Advance Planning Visit (APV) for the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “RE-thinking Fashion”, hosted by Association Alfa Albona in Rijeka, Croatia, from 17 to 20 February 2025. This important visit laid the groundwork for the upcoming exchange, focused on raising awareness among young people about the environmental and social impacts of fast fashion, while equipping them with practical skills in sustainable fashion and upcycling techniques.
Planning for a Sustainable Future
The RE-thinking Fashion APV brought together group leaders from six countries—Latvia, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Croatia, and the Netherlands—to collaboratively design a meaningful and engaging youth exchange. Participants worked together to refine the program structure, develop workshop concepts, and prepare activities addressing critical issues such as textile waste, resource overconsumption, and ethical production.
Discussions and planning sessions covered a range of topics, from the environmental footprint of the fashion industry to practical approaches for promoting upcycling and recycling among young people. Creative sessions were mapped out, including upcycling workshops, collaborative art projects, and awareness campaigns, ensuring a dynamic and impactful experience for all participants.
An Immersive Preparation in Rijeka
Set against the backdrop of Rijeka, a coastal city known for its rich history and vibrant arts scene, the APV provided an opportunity for team-building, intercultural collaboration, and logistical coordination. Group leaders participated in intensive planning meetings, explored the hosting facilities, and finalized the activity schedule, ensuring a well-organized and inclusive youth exchange.
Each day included collaborative discussions, review of roles and responsibilities, and collective brainstorming to ensure the program would support personal development, creativity, environmental awareness, and intercultural learning. The supportive atmosphere fostered strong partnerships and a shared commitment to making the upcoming exchange a transformative experience.
Looking Ahead
Stichting yEUth is honored to contribute to the RE-thinking Fashion project and extends heartfelt thanks to Association Alfa Albona for their thoughtful coordination and hospitality. This APV has set the foundation for a youth exchange that embodies our mission to inspire young people through sustainability, collaboration, and intercultural learning.
Stay tuned for more updates as we move towards an exciting and impactful exchange this April.
