Defending the right to humanity for all
DEFENDING THE RIGHT TO HUMANITY FOR ALL HANDBOOK

What happens when a project doesn’t just discuss human rights, but equips young people with the means to explore, question, and act on them? That’s the spirit of the Defending the Right to Humanity for All Handbook—a resource shaped by the Erasmus+ KA2 partnership of ORULA (France), together with organizations from Greece and the Netherlands.

This publication is not a static report. It is a toolkit—practical, flexible, and alive with ideas for fostering inclusion, diversity, and youth participation. Built around non-formal education methods, its eight activities are designed to spark curiosity, challenge assumptions, and empower dialogue.

Readers will discover approaches as varied as storytelling for human rights, privilege awareness exercises, mock trials on social justice, and digital campaigns for equality

. Each activity is a doorway: into empathy, into critical thinking, into the possibility of building communities where every young person feels seen and valued.

What makes this handbook unique is its emphasis on action. Rather than presenting theory, it creates opportunities for experience. It helps young people step into roles, test ideas, and imagine alternatives—learning not only about rights, but how to practice them in daily life.

The handbook doesn’t claim to provide ready-made solutions. Instead, it offers tools for exploration. It invites adaptation, creativity, and above all, participation. Teachers, youth workers, and facilitators can take these activities and make them their own, tailoring them to the needs of their groups and communities.

At its heart, Defending the Right to Humanity for All Handbook is a reminder: defending human dignity is not a distant or abstract task. It’s something we can practice here and now—through conversation, reflection, and shared action.
