Roots & Routes

June Project Meeting

Our June monthly meeting for the Roots & Routes – Roots in Culture, Routes in Connecting Together project brought the team together to review our progress and continue shaping the activities planned for the months ahead.

During the meeting, we discussed the next steps in preparing a series of intercultural gatherings designed to bring together local and international young people in Leiden. The project aims to create welcoming spaces where participants can connect, share their cultures, build meaningful friendships, and gradually take an active role in organising future activities themselves.

We also reviewed our communication strategy, coordination of responsibilities, and upcoming community-building events, ensuring that the project remains inclusive, accessible, and participant-centred. The team reflected on how each activity can strengthen intercultural dialogue, promote social inclusion, and encourage young people to become active members of their local community.

Roots & Routes is more than a series of cultural events—it’s an initiative that empowers young people to create lasting connections and build a stronger sense of belonging through non-formal learning and community engagement.

We are excited to continue this journey and look forward to sharing more updates as the project develops.

Stay tuned!
