Hey! We are Efi and Fofi and since the 1st of May 2026, we have been participating in an Erasmus+ internship at Stichting yEUth in the Netherlands.
Before starting this experience, we were looking for an opportunity to work in an international environment where we could collaborate with people from different backgrounds and gain practical experience in the field of youth work. The Netherlands attracted us because of its international character and strong support for youth initiatives and European cooperation.
We chose Stichting yEUth because of its active involvement in Erasmus+ projects and its commitment to empowering young people through non-formal education and international mobility. We believed it would be the ideal place to better understand how European projects are developed and implemented in practice.
During the first half of our internship, we have gained valuable insight into how a youth NGO operates and contributes to both local and international projects. One of the most interesting aspects of this experience has been learning how non-formal education and community engagement can be used to create opportunities for young people and generate a positive social impact.
Throughout our internship, we have been involved in a variety of activities, including social media communication, content creation, project development, proposal writing and the organisation and promotion of workshops and events.
We have started to understand how a project evolves from an initial idea into a structured proposal and eventually into an activity that benefits young people and local communities. Through practical involvement and the guidance of our supervisors and colleagues, we have gained a clearer understanding of the planning and coordination required to successfully implement youth projects. Beyond the professional skills we have developed, this internship has also contributed significantly to our personal growth.Â
Another highlight of our experience has been the positive and supportive working environment at Stichting yEUth. From the very beginning, we felt welcomed by our supervisors, colleagues and volunteers, creating a friendly atmosphere that encourages collaboration and learning.
Our Erasmus+ internship at Stichting yEUth has been an inspiring journey. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn and contribute to the organisation’s mission, and we look forward to becoming even more involved in project development and community building initiatives during the remainder of our internship
