VISYON Project Dissemination Event in Leiden

On February 27th, Stichting yEUth hosted a dissemination event in Leiden, bringing together 17 young people and youth workers to celebrate and reflect on the achievements of the VISYON project. This event was an opportunity to explore past mobilities, share experiences, and showcase the impactful work done under the VISYON initiative. The event focused on sharing the goals achieved, reliving the memories from the mobilities, and presenting the short films produced across all partner countries.

The VISYON dissemination event was designed as a space for participants to engage in meaningful discussions about youth empowerment, digital storytelling, and the power of film as a tool for activism. The session began with an overview of the project’s main objectives and achievements, emphasizing its focus on active youth engagement, European Youth Goals, and the role of digital media in fostering solidarity and citizenship skills. Participants exchanged insights on how these experiences had influenced their personal and professional growth.

A highlight of the event was the screening of the films produced during the VISYON project. These short movies, created by young people across different European countries, addressed key social issues aligned with the 11 European Youth Goals. Each film was the result of a collaborative effort where young participants wrote scripts based on real-life experiences, explored pressing youth-related challenges and translated their perspectives into impactful visual storytelling. The audience was deeply moved by the authenticity and creativity showcased in the films, which captured the essence of young people’s aspirations and concerns.

About the VISYON Project

VISYON (Values, Ideas, and Stories from Youth ON Stage) is a European project funded under the Erasmus+ program, aimed at amplifying the voices of young people through digital storytelling and filmmaking. The project connected youth from eight European countries, equipping them with the skills and platform to express their concerns, needs, and aspirations while fostering a deeper understanding of European Youth Goals.

Through a combination of workshops, international mobilities, and collaborative filmmaking, VISYON empowered young people to develop media literacy, civic engagement, and storytelling skills. The final outcomes, including the European Youth Diary and the series of short films, serve as advocacy tools to influence policy discussions and raise awareness of youth-related issues at local, national, and European levels.

As the dissemination event in Leiden demonstrated, the impact of VISYON extends beyond its official activities, inspiring continued youth participation and creative expression. The project’s legacy lies in its ability to provide young people with a voice, a platform, and the tools to shape their own narratives in Europe.
