Youth Code in Italy

Participating in YOUTH CODE in the heart of Italy was a transformative journey that went far beyond a simple educational trip. Hosted in the serene town of Conegliano from February 23rd to March 2nd, 2026, the project brought together young people from the Netherlands, Lithuania, Portugal, and Finland to tackle the complexities of our modern digital landscape. As representatives of Stichting yEUth, we delved into a curriculum titled “Youth Online Understanding and Tackling Hazards through Community-Oriented Digital Education,” designed to build a critical understanding of digital issues. By focusing on digital addiction and collective civic action, the exchange challenged us to transform personal reflections into meaningful contributions for a healthier digital future.

The rhythm of the project was structured into three distinct international modules: Digital Knowledge, Social and Creative Skills, and Civic Participation. Through the lens of non-formal education, we developed transversal competencies such as leadership, teamwork, and creativity while promoting cooperation and well-being. Living and working together at Campus San Francesco—a former convent blending historic charm with modern amenities—provided a practical setting to foster inclusion. With 50% of places reserved for young people from vulnerable backgrounds, including NEETs and those with migrant backgrounds, the project created a truly safe and diverse intercultural learning environment.

Beyond the intensive workshops, the cultural landscape of the Prosecco hills and nearby vineyards offered a profound backdrop for our growth. The immersive experience was further enriched by our stay in the “serene and inspiring” campus, which encouraged both creative sessions and deep evening gatherings. We returned home not just with the Youthpass Certificate to validate our new skills, but with a renewed motivation to participate in upcoming follow-up coaching sessions, including Europass CV workshops and think tanks on future EU volunteering opportunities.
