Set against the backdrop of beautiful, sunny Gijón, the program got off to a great start. Through group discussions, role-playing focused on community engagement, conflict resolution, active listening, and maximizing the impact of youth work in multicultural communities, Movical+ was not merely an exploration of our potential but an opportunity to improve our communication skills using mediation techniques. Through fictional scenarios, not far from real-life situations, we developed our empathy and emotional validation and learned how to provide constructive feedback. Erasmus+ is always the place to be when dealing with people, and in this case, all the activities explored conflict and resolution as a structural and social dynamic, reinforcing my commitment to inclusive dialogue and the facilitation of opportunities. Most of all, I was happy to take on multiple roles during the training, participate in workshops in diverse settings, and finally share the training experience through a podcast recorded at the Expoaccion offices, where we also had the chance to see their valuable community work and how they operate. The podcast served as a great tool for reflection and outreach, translating all our non-formal learning into an accessible conversation for other youth workers and young people!
It was certainly a week I will cherish and connections I will keep for a lifetime.
Looking forward to coming back!
