As part of the One Life Many Endings project, we explored the Introductory Model, a resource designed to introduce young people to the concept of End Education. The model encourages participants to reflect on the role of endings in everyday life and to understand change as a natural and meaningful part of human experience.
The material highlights that everything we experience has a beginning and an end. Rather than viewing endings only as losses, the OLME approach presents them as opportunities for growth and new beginnings. Participants are invited to reflect on personal experiences, recognize the value of change, and develop greater self-awareness.
A central element of the Introductory Model is the concept of End Education, which helps young people prepare for change, face uncertainty, and transform challenging experiences into opportunities for personal development. The model also explores themes such as impermanence, emotional awareness, resilience, and the different phases people may experience when going through an ending.
Another inspiring aspect of the material is the use of the Hero’s Journey as a framework for understanding life transitions. By viewing endings as part of a larger journey of growth and transformation, participants are encouraged to approach challenges with curiosity, courage, and hope. The model reminds us that every ending carries the potential for a new beginning and that personal growth often emerges through change.
At Stichting yEUth, we believe that supporting young people in navigating life transitions is an important part of youth work. The OLME Introductory Model offers valuable tools and reflection exercises that help participants better understand themselves, their emotions, and the opportunities that can arise from change. Through this project, we continue to promote meaningful learning experiences that empower young people to face the future with confidence.
