From December 15 to 17, 2025, Thiene, Italy, hosted the “One Life Many Endings” (OLME) training, a unique international event that brought together youth workers, educators, psychologists and other professionals who dedicate their work to supporting young people facing difficult or transitional life situations. Representing Stichting yEUth at this enlightening training were Hanna and Sarah, who alongside colleagues from the Friends of Education and Alma.Thi, explored new ways to support youth in need of guidance and care.
The training, held in the charming town of Thiene, provided a comprehensive, hands-on experience that equipped participants with practical skills and emotional tools to navigate complex situations that young people face in times of personal struggle, loss or change. Upon arrival, participants were warmly welcomed by their Italian hosts from the very start, setting the tone of the event as extremely inclusive and full of cooperation. The first day focused on introducing Hero’s Journey methodology, a unique approach designed to help youth workers support young people in processing emotionally challenging situations.
At the heart of the OLME methodology is the idea that difficult endings can make space for meaningful beginnings. The framework is rooted in the understanding that personal growth does not follow a linear path- instead, it unfolds in a spiral of emotions, reflections and behaviors. For young people dealing with identity struggles, emotional challenges or loss, OLME provides an adaptable and flexible approach that helps them process their experiences and find meaning in their journeys. By emphasizing storytelling, guided reflection and perspective-sharing, OLME empowers youth to reflect on their emotions and see new possibilities for their future.

Throughout the training, participants from various backgrounds worked together to adapt and apply the OLME methodology. The hands-on activities included designing real-life workshops and discussions, with each participant contributing insights based on their professional experience. This practical approach ensured that the knowledge gained wasn’t just theoretical, instead it was immediately put to use in crafting concrete solutions for youth-facing challenges.
The experience was particularly valuable for Stichting yEUth, as the organization’s mission aligns closely with the core values of OLME. As youth workers dedicated to personal development and mental well-being across Europe, Stichting yEUth representatives found the training to be an essential tool in supporting young adults navigating uncertain or difficult life stages. The OLME methodology’s emphasis on non-linear growth and emotional understanding complements the organization’s commitment to empowering young people through life’s transitions.
The collaborative nature of the training made for a deeply enriching experience, with participants sharing their unique perspectives and learning from each other. The high level of interaction between attendees, paired with expert facilitation from Francesca, made for a dynamic and impactful learning process. It was a valuable opportunity to explore how professionals can work together to support young people, and to exchange ideas on how to best implement OLME’s principles in diverse cultural and professional contexts.

Stichting yEUth extends its gratitude to Alma.Thi for their hospitality, warmth, and commitment to fostering a supportive community of youth workers and to Friends of Education for their valuable perspective and engagement. The “One Life Many Endings” training was an inspiring experience that deepened our the understanding of emotional resilience and offered practical, applicable tools for youth workers across Europe. The lessons learned in Thiene will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the future work of Stichting yEUth, as we will continue to support young people in navigating life’s most challenging moments.
