Stichting yEUth is proud to announce its participation in the second training of the Erasmus+ accredited project “Resilience & Growth in Youth Work,” hosted by Bloom Associação Sociocultural in Portugal, from 23 to 30 April 2025. This impactful training focused on strengthening youth workers’ professional skills and supporting their resilience when facing challenges in the field of youth work.
Building Stronger Professionals for Youth Work
The second training of the Resilience & Growth project brought together youth workers from eight countries to further develop essential social and professional competencies. Following the first training, which focused on emotional well-being and personal resilience, this second phase aimed to strengthen participants’ abilities to manage interpersonal challenges, navigate conflicts, and define their professional roles within teams.
Participants engaged in activities covering key topics such as conflict management, nonviolent communication, assertiveness, boundary setting, and professional growth. Through interactive methods like role-playing, case study analysis, and group reflections, they gained practical tools to handle difficult situations in youth work settings effectively and empathetically.
An Immersive Learning Experience in Portugal
Set in the inspiring surroundings of Portugal, the training offered a rich environment for personal and professional development. Participants not only deepened their understanding of effective communication and conflict resolution but also built meaningful connections with peers from diverse backgrounds, fostering a strong sense of community and support.
Each day was structured around experiential learning sessions that combined theory and practice. Group discussions, interactive simulations, and hands-on exercises allowed participants to experience real-life youth work scenarios and collaboratively develop strategies to overcome challenges. The supportive atmosphere encouraged open sharing, self-reflection, and mutual learning, essential for cultivating a sustainable and resilient approach to youth work.
A Participant’s Voice
“I feel privileged to be a participant in the Resilience & Growth training in Portugal!!! The training course consisted of 2 parts. During the first part, I learned tools of mindfulness, meditation, about inner critic and how to agree with it, and to take the lead. I am so happy to meet wonderful souls from 8 countries of the EU. I learned from them trust, empathy, friendship, support, acceptance, inclusivity, and unconditional love. We had amazing trainers that brought us from the mind to body. At the same time, I learned other tools and instruments to prevent burnout.
Part 2 brought me tools in conflict management, NVC and more, which I am going to share and to apply.”

“I participated in both trainings and loved how everything was in balance with each other. The topics of the first training were a great foundation to build upon, and the second training created further personal growth, resilience, and ownership within my own work and private life. I now feel more equipped with the tools I learned on how to deal with challenging situations and how to stay connected with my own purpose, needs, and goals.”

While recovering from burnout, I had the chance to participate in the “Growth and Resilience” training. The timing within my healing journey was great. But also to prevent this from happening ever again! Part one was the most enriching, because it helped me to connect with myself, learn more about my old patterns, new needs and how I deal with things. The group was an amazing playground to practise the things we learned. I went home with a lot of new tools that I still use! The second part was more about conflict resolution and communication. This time I learned less new stuff and didn’t liked it so much, but the training was my playground again and I could practise with that “problem” that arose at that moment. The most valuable lesson I take home with me is: That’s really okay to feel my needs, express them, take space, BE ME and CHOOSE ME. So I can bloom and keep blooming, on a personal and work-related level. Thank you, Bloom, for this enriching time together!
