Stichting yEUth is excited to announce the adoption of the Green Protocol as the guiding framework for all our decision-making processes. Rooted in the principles of the European Green Deal and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, this protocol provides a clear and practical roadmap for embedding environmental responsibility into our daily operations and long-term planning.
Originally developed as part of the Green E.Th.I.Cs project, the protocol offers structured, adaptable guidance on how to reduce our environmental impact—both in how we manage our organization and how we organize events. Its adoption reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability, inclusion, and youth empowerment.
The Green Protocol addresses several key operational areas, including:
Energy Use – Reducing consumption, sourcing renewable energy, and implementing energy-efficient solutions.
Office Practices – Minimizing paper usage, choosing eco-certified supplies, and encouraging recycling and reuse.
Sustainable Travel – Prioritizing public transport, train travel, and low-emission alternatives for local and international mobility.
Green Events – Selecting certified venues, avoiding single-use plastics, reducing food waste, and promoting vegetarian and local catering.
Communication & Outreach – Ensuring our materials, giveaways, and digital tools align with eco-friendly standards.
From now on, the Green Protocol will serve as our internal reference point for evaluating choices, setting priorities, and reflecting on our practices. Whether planning a meeting, printing a flyer, booking a trip, or organizing an event, we will consider the environmental impact at each step.
This is not just a new procedure—it is a cultural shift. By embracing the Green Protocol, Stichting yEUth reinforces its mission to act as a responsible, forward-thinking member of civil society. We aim not only to reduce our footprint but also to inspire others—especially young people—to take meaningful climate action in their own communities.
We look forward to your ideas, input, and participation as we continue to grow and evolve this work together.
