Youth exchange 04/03/2025 - 3/03/2025 in Schaijk, the Netherlands

We are happy to announce that one more amazing youth exchange has been completed successfully. The project “Cultural Storytelling Canvas: Crafting Narratives for Inclusion, Democracy, and the Environment!”, united 41 participants from Greece, Slovakia, Spain, Turkiye and the Netherlands. The youth exchange was organized by the Dutch organization Stichting yEUth and took place in Schaijk, the Netherlands from 04 to 13 March  2025.

 

Aims & Objectives of the project

This project aimed to provide participants the opportunity to explore various aspects of your culture, such as myths, legends, music, food, and customs, in an interactive and collaborative environment. By reflecting on their cultural identity and learning about others, they gained a broader perspective on European diversity and the shared values that unite us. In addition to cultural storytelling, the project aimed to address pressing global issues such as climate change and digital transformation. Participants engaged in discussions about how to combat climate change and adopt sustainable lifestyles, while also learning

More specifically the objectives were:

  • Promote intercultural understanding and active citizenship 
  • Develop communication skills and combat social isolation 
  • Promote environmental awareness and digital literacy

 

Workshops & Activities of the project

Through this project, participants had the opportunity to get better in some key competencies such as multilingual competence, personal, social, and learning to learn competence. During the project, they worked with many educational methodologies and explored the topic through non- formal activities. Participants got to know each other through ice-breaking and team building sessions.  Facilitator introduces them to Erasmus+ principles and the Youthpass certificate. Participants engaged in thematic workshops covering culture, social inclusion, stereotypes, and environmental futures. Outdoor activities like “Waving together the fairy-tale of our green future” fostered creativity around sustainability. Key workshops explored storytelling for self-empowerment and advocacy. Cultural exchange was highlighted through nightly intercultural evenings representing different countries. A study visit allowed participants to explore a city’s hidden narratives. The final days focused on project management, local storytelling actions, personal development reflection, and a Youthpass ceremony to celebrate growth and learning. It was a successful project that left participants with new knowledge, new friendships and unforgettable moments.
